Bulleted & Numbered List Options
After creating your list, you can customize its
appearance and functionality. This document explains how to
alter bulleted lists (unordered lists) and numbered lists
(ordered lists).
Changing
the List Type
When you change the list type, you are changing
the entire list. You can change from bullets to numbers or
change the style of the bullets or numbers for the entire list.
-
Place the cursor within the list you want to
change
-
In the Text Properties pane, click
LIST ITEM...

The List Properties dialog box appears.
-
From the List Type pull-down list,
select a type
-
From the Style pull-down list, select
a style for the items in the list
NOTE: The style
selected affects all items in the list.
-
For numbered lists, to start the list with a
number other than one (1), in the Start Count text
box, type the starting number
NOTE: This also
applies to numbered lists using an alphabet style. For
example, to start the count at "b," type 2.
-
When finished, click
OK
Changing
the List Item Style
You can change the style of individual list
items. For example, if you have a numbered list, you may want
subpoints numbered with lowercase letters. Choices made in the
List Item section of the List Properties
dialog box affect only selected list items.
-
Select the item(s) you want to change
-
In the Text Properties pane, click
LIST ITEM...

The List Properties dialog box appears.
-
In the List Item section, from the
New Style pull-down list, select a style for the item(s)
-
For numbered lists, to start the item(s) with a
number other than one (1), in the Reset Count To text
box, type the starting number
NOTE: This also
applies to numbered lists using an alphabet style. For
example, to start the count at "b," type 2.
-
When finished, click
