Tables Properties Pane
The Tables Properties pane has three views: Table,
Row, and Cell. Each of these views is used to control the
table settings. The Tables view uses the entire Properties
pane. However, the Row and Cell views are displayed in the
bottom half of the Text Properties pane.
The
Tables Properties Pane
The Tables Properties pane will be displayed
when an entire table is selected.
To display the Table Properties pane:

Right click within the table, select Table »
Select Table
The entire table is selected and the Table Properties pane appears.
Elements of the Table Properties Pane

Identifies the table name. Required to be completed for
accessibility and Section 508 requirements. |

Indicates the number of columns and rows in the table. You
can modify the numbers to add or delete rows and columns.
WARNING: Decreasing the numbers can result in a loss of
content. |

Indicates the width and height of the table in either
percentages or pixels. |

|
Specifies the amount of cell padding and/or spacing for the
table. |
|
|
Specifies the table alignment, relative to text around the
table (not the text within the table). |

Specifies the size of the table border. |
|
|
Adjusts table size by clearing settings or converting to
pixels or percentages. |

|
Specifies the background color for the table. |
|
|
Specifies the border color for the table. |
|
|
Specifies the background image for the table. |
The
Table Row Properties and Cell Properties Pane
The Table Row Properties and Table Cell
Properties panes look almost identical to the Table Properties
pane (the only change is specifying row or cell or in the first section). The
main difference is the impact of the changes on the selected cells or selected
rows.

Combines or splits cells. |

Adjusts the horizontal (right to left) alignment and the
vertical (top to bottom) alignment of the cell. |

Specifies the width and height of the row or cell. |
|
|
Specifies that the text in the cell should not wrap around. |

Indicates a cell or group of cells as heading cells. This
improves the comprehensibility of tables for those using a screen reader. |

Specifies the background image for the table. |
|
|
Specifies the background color for the table. |
|
|
Specifies the border color for the table. |
